THE PRAISE GENERATION.

Still on ‪#‎WhyWeWorship‬; I got started this morning during study when I came across some relevancies.

Dearest Worshipper, it’s of great importance that we don’t just get active without a cause. The move of The Spirit of Worship, ongoing in our time isn’t a product of a somewhat, ‘volcanic eruption’.
My dear, to God’s glory, we were  anticipated and heavily expected. The old testament folks, who grasped this revelation wished to be a part of this move.

David saw us coming;

“Let this be written for a future generation, that a people not yet created may praise the Lord”. Psalms 102:18.

You see, not that they couldn’t do it. They tried. But all their acts of worship were summed as A SHADOW OF THE REAL THING TO COME. What ever they did was OUTSIDE, VIELED.

(MSG)2 Corinthians 3:9
“…Bright as that old government was, it would look downright dull alongside this new one..”

Funny enough, Luke 1:10 has it that, “when the time for the burning of incense came, all the assembled WORSHIPPERS were praying OUTSIDE”.

They couldn’t get INSIDE,yet. So, we, still, were coming…

Zechariah, at the birth of his son, also saw us coming;
“to show mercy to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant; the oath he swore to our father Abraham,- A CLEAN RESCUE FROM THE ENEMY CAMP, SO WE CAN WORSHIP WITHOUT A CARE IN THE WORLD”. Luke 1:72-74.

The incarnate Jesus spelt out the setting-in of this move to the Samaritan woman at the well;
“yet a time is coming, and has now come…”

Jesus spoke in faith of what was to come, when the promise of the spirit of truth shall become manifest. For he said;
“It is not where we worship that counts, but HOW we worship,- is our worship spiritual and real? Do we have the Holy Spirit’s help?”

That was it. We were about to be birthed, incubated by the Spirit of worship. Little wonder Jesus told Nicodemus;
“unless a person submits to this original creation,-God’s spirit sweeping over the face of the waters; he won’t have the kingdom(both now and later).

FAITH TALK; FAITH WALK.

image

(This may be one of those long, boring expositions, but i pray this blesses someone’s heart).

Some months back had me make  a review of my faith life,as regards God, trust and total dependence.

Mehn! It wasn’t smiling at all.
But God made me understand something;

“No matter how Good we feel God’s  gift to us,at a time, there is always a better and a best of It”.

Lets take a critical look at Abraham;

Acts 7vs
“2-3
Stephen replied, “Friends, fathers, and bbuccrgc t hgcxhfchcucrothers, the God of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was still in Mesopotamia, before the move to Haran, and told him, ‘Leave your country and family and go to the land I’ll show you.’

4-7
“So he left the country of the Chaldeans and moved to Haran. After the death of his father, he immigrated to this country where you now live, but God gave him nothing, not so much as a foothold.”

God’s first call to Abraham came when he still was in the comforts of his hometown at Mesopotamia /Ur of the Chaldean (present day Babylon ).
But,too bad, Pa Terah hijacked the vision, causing a minor crash;

Genesis 11vs
31
Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot (Haran’s son), and Sarai his daughter-in-law (his son Abram’s wife) and set out with them from Ur of the Chaldees for the land of Canaan. But when they got as far as Haran, they settled down there.

He was probably on this relocation-something, towards “Canaan”.(any startup without God or out of purpose /vision, even if its to the expected end gets stranded at some point. Discover your Origin!  )

Isn’t this funny???

The “Land God wanted to show Abraham “,wasn’t nonexistent,at then. So to hell with the school of thought that posits that God created the place out a sudden and wanted Abraham to be a first dweller. No!!!

“Substance of things(not oblivion ) hoped for….  evidence of things not seen(they are,But not in sight)”.

That land was Canaan. Canaanites and their neighborhood were in existence. Pa Terah,obviously knew where it was located, But divinely it was undisclosed to His son.

“To a land I (not Terah) will show you….”

God is obviously and should be alpha and omega.

Was God disappointed at Abraham????  Well ask him,please?

But I could sense something;

“(God,shaking his head)…
Abraham -dearie, That’s off it,you know! …. I know the plans I have made for you since the world began…. I just need you to go SOLO, OYO  ”

God had to wait for Terah’s exit (in this case, by death )

“32
Terah lived 205 years. He died in Haran.”
….Before the reminder in Genesis 12:1;
“God told(other version, -“had said to…” )Abram: “Leave your country, your family, and your father’s home for a land that I will show you”.

Atlast!!!

“6
So Abram left just as God said, and (BUT) Lot left with him.”

The Lord told Abraham,
Leave
your country,
your family, and
your father’s home…

You see,Even Sarah wasn’t in the vision’s plan. INFACT, the Promise as a personality and his major story began after Sarah’s death. Abraham was meant to be the only direct link to the kicking off of the consolidation of the  promise.(Genesis 23&24),before giving way in death,for the promise”s maturation(Chapter 25).

But I believe God over looked all these.

Be it as it may,Lot,isn’t a part if Abrams immediate family,and,thus was off the point.

God Had to wait for Lot to get out of the way, too…before starting off any promissory talk with Abraham;

Genesis 13vs
14-17
After Lot separated from him, God said to Abram, “Open your eyes, look around. Look north, south, east, and west. Everything you see, the whole land spread out before you, I will give to you and your children forever. I’ll make your descendants like dust—counting your descendants will be as impossible as counting the dust of the Earth. So—on your feet, get moving! Walk through the country, its length and breadth; I’m giving it all to you.”

18
Abram moved his tent. He went and settled by the Oaks of Mamre in Hebron. There he built an altar to God(this started up a consolidation of an abiding fellowship in God’s presence -the altar ).

On and on…. every extraneous body had to “comot “,at each step in Abraham’s faith walk with God, – Ismael, Hagar (note that some of his mistakes had pulsating consequences, like Hagar and Ismael ‘s)……up to Isaac!!!!  The personality, embodiment of the promise!

Note that God is not pleased when his gifts takes our eyes off him,the giver. You may call it father’s love on an only son or  whatever…But Isaac unknowingly constituted a threat to Abraham’s Solo-steadfastness in God. And c’mon, Na God jealous pass,na! He can’t stand the sight of a momentary pleasure in some sort of fulfillment spoil all the years he’s had with Abraham from the point he answered the call….all the experiences, lessons…. kai! (Flashback to Eden… to Adam’s “Hand-falling”,and the stupid circumstances that led to It.

So God be like,

“Hey! Isaac, you don’t spoil what we’re doing here…OK! mbaaaa!… #smh “.

Now God is not a liar, So he didn’t forget his promise to Sarah.  He fashioned a plan to know how he could take back what Isaac has almost taken from him(Abraham’s love,attention, trust ).

GENESIS 22vs
1
After all this, God tested Abraham. God said, “Abraham!” “Yes?” answered Abraham. “I’m listening.”

2He said, “Take your dear son Isaac whom you love and go to the land of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains that I’ll point out to you.”

That was bolt! Ghen -Ghen!
“Fashie “, God isn’t wicked at all to be that wicked.  He had it all planned and sorted out.

Here was it, any step Abraham took towards carrying out that assignment was a step out of the hold of the Love and faith he had on/for “these things (” Jesus asked Peter, “do you love me more than these….?)…a consequent stride of God back to the centre of his faith/affection life (God gave You Isaac without much ado… can he be less capable of giving you further??? )

God desired to teach Abraham TRUE WORSHIP. And in worship, then(which was a shadow of the yet to come ),there has to be an offerer and an offering. (I later times, God had to perfect that when he Worshipped!  Yes he did, and Jesus was/is his offering….  So as a digress,God has worshipped!  And by the veto of the finished work, We all have worshipped in Christ, who remains an ever speaking offering! See Grace! )

So Abraham worshipped..

” Abraham told his two young servants, “Stay here with the donkey. The boy and I are going over there to worship; then we’ll come back to you.”
Note the already returning  assurance and trust in God. But God needed precision and accuracy.  Let’s not assume, mbok!

“9-10They arrived at the place to which God had directed him. Abraham built an altar. He laid out the wood. Then he tied up Isaac and laid him on the wood. Abraham reached out and took the knife to kill his son.”

For Abraham to raise his hand against Isaac was enough proof that he’s. Withheld NOTHING.  GOD’S finally rode back to centre of his life,love trust,affection, etc. And it was crystal;

“11Just then an angel of God called to him out of Heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!” “Yes, I’m listening.”
12″Don’t lay a hand on that boy! Don’t touch him! Now I know how fearlessly you fear God; you didn’t hesitate to place your son, your dear son, on the altar for me.”
13Abraham looked up. He saw a ram caught by its horns in the thicket. Abraham took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son.
14Abraham named that place God-Yireh (God-Sees-to-It). That’s where we get the saying, “On the mountain of God, he sees to it.”

Yes!
He’s known it all, So he’s upon his honour he’s sure to see to it….upon his mountain, he sees to it (pause,ponder ).

“15-18The angel of God spoke from Heaven a second time to Abraham: “I swear—God’s sure word!—because you have gone through with this, and have not refused to give me your son, your dear, dear son, I’ll bless you—oh, how I’ll bless you! And I’ll make sure that your children flourish—like stars in the sky! like sand on the beaches! And your descendants will defeat their enemies. All nations on Earth will find themselves blessed through your descendants because you obeyed me.”

End OF STUDY.

NOTES:
You may not have it all figured out at first…. You’re not alone. Abraham didn’t also, So you got company.

Therefore, if God said it!
Believe it!
